Development in Indonesia has implied a necessity for reorientation in the agricultural development in Indonesia as part of the frame of national economic development. In relation to the matter, the discussions about the agribusiness system approach regarding agricultural activity as an integral activity and the strategic position of agroindustry have been widely carried out, where the ideas of IPB scientists have obtained the honorable position in the national and international discussions concerning the matter. This should be continuously followed up, and it is a very interesting and important object of development study.
Structurally, the Center for Agricultural, Rural and Development Study at Institute for Research of Bogor Institute for Agriculture is under supervision of the Institute for Research of Bogor Institute for Agriculture or abbreviated as CARDS-IR IPB. CARDS-IR IPB is formed based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Cultural RI No. 061/K13/OT/2005. During this time, CARDS-IR IPB has a major task in the educational research and development for serving the community in relation to the implementation and results of researches. From agriculture development aspect, Center for Agricultural, Rural and Development Study at Institute for Research of Bogor Institute for Agriculture (CARDS-IR IPB) hopefully could play an active role in contributing various ideas through various analysis activities, both in form of researches, trainings, discussions, seminars, publications, and the like.
